Solidarity Nautical Mile: Odeclas joins sport with a cause
Next Sunday, June 16, the Solidarity Nautical Mile will once again fill the El Bogatell beach with energy, sport, and solidarity. In this fifth edition, Odeclas will actively participate by collaborating in the production of the official silicone caps that the 800 swimmers registered for this unique event, organized by the Barcelona fire department, will wear.
Sport and solidarity in the Barcelona Firefighters Nautical Mile
The Barcelona Firefighters Nautical Mile is not a competitive race but an experience designed for all levels. Participants can choose from four distances: half, one, two, or three nautical miles, thus adapting to their abilities and motivations.
Additionally, each registration represents a solidarity act. The €10 donation will go to the Catalan Association of Hereditary Ataxias, an entity that supports people affected by neurological disorders of genetic origin.
Odeclas, present in every stroke
At Odeclas, we are not only involved in organizing the Solidarity Nautical Mile with the silicone caps. We will also offer a welcome pack to all swimmers, including an attractive discount valid both in our online store and at the sales point we will set up on the beach during the crossing.
We want every participant to feel our commitment to sport, health, and social causes that deserve visibility and support.
Recommendations for swimming in open water
For those participating, we recommend using technical swimsuits or wetsuits, depending on the temperature conditions (expected between 17ºC and 20ºC). A comfortable sports bikini or a sports swimsuit without marked seams will prevent chafing. Also:
- Apply vaseline on the neck and armpits to prevent friction wounds.
- Use mirror lens goggles to protect yourself from the sun.
- Don't forget sunscreen, even on cloudy days.
An event that adds values
Thanks to previous editions, the Solidarity Nautical Mile has raised thousands of euros for associations like Nou Horitzó. This event is established as a must-attend date in the Barcelona swimming calendar, demonstrating that sport can go hand in hand with empathy and social action.
From Odeclas we encourage all swimmers to enjoy this unique day. See you at El Bogatell, ready to get wet for a great cause!
