Charity Nautical Mile: Odeclas Joins Sports for a Cause
Next Sunday, June 16, the Charity Nautical Mile will once again fill El Bogatell beach with energy, sports, and solidarity. In this fifth edition, Odeclas will actively participate by collaborating in the production of the official silicone caps worn by the 800 swimmers registered for this unique event, organized by the Barcelona Fire Department.
Sports and Solidarity at the Barcelona Firefighters Nautical Mile
The Barcelona Firefighters Nautical Mile is not a competitive race but an experience designed for all levels. Participants can choose from four distances: half, one, two, or three nautical miles, adapting to their abilities and motivations.
Additionally, each registration represents a charitable act. The €10 donation will go to the Catalan Association of Hereditary Ataxias, an organization that supports people affected by neurological disorders of genetic origin.
Odeclas, Present in Every Stroke
At Odeclas, we are not only involved in organizing the Charity Nautical Mile with the silicone caps. We will also offer a welcome pack to all swimmers, including an attractive discount valid both in our online store and at the sales point we will set up on the beach during the event.
We want every participant to feel our commitment to sports, health, and social causes that deserve visibility and support.
Recommendations for Open Water Swimming
For those participating, we recommend using technical swimsuits or wetsuits, depending on the temperature conditions (expected between 17ºC and 20ºC). A comfortable sports bikini or a seamless sports swimsuit will help prevent chafing. Additionally:
- Apply petroleum jelly on the neck and armpits to prevent friction wounds.
- Use mirror lens goggles to protect yourself from the sun.
- Don’t forget sunscreen, even on cloudy days.
An Event That Adds Value
Thanks to previous editions, the Charity Nautical Mile has raised thousands of euros for organizations like Nou Horitzó. This event has established itself as a must-attend date on Barcelona’s swimming calendar, proving that sports can go hand in hand with empathy and social action.
From Odeclas, we encourage all swimmers to enjoy this unique day. See you at El Bogatell, ready to get wet for a great cause!
